 Modern photo of a location from the book. The very wonderful Otley Arms which back in 1895 (and until the 1970s) was The Commercial. In Fortuna's Deadly Shadow it is Constable Danny Preece's local

  This time a location from Sabrina's Teardrop (credit to Barry Jennings for the photo). It's Princess Street, #shrewsbury where May visits the YWCA. Incidentally, whilst I'm at it, you may recall that the book features a dog called a Boerboel. I came across the breed during my research but I'd never actually seen one in real life. Well, 2 weeks ago I came across a dog that was half Boerboel, half Corso. A massive beast but more likely to drown you in drool than savage you. One thing was certain, if the dog decided to launch itself, the owner wouldn't have had a hope in hell of stopping it. Thankfully this one seem to have been blessed with a soppy gene.
